LDRS Creative: Merry Christmas with the new release!

Hi guys! I'm back with a second post today, this time for  LDRS Creative to share about the brand new Christmas release that hit the store! To show you how fun the dies, paperpad and borders are, I created two cards using the exact same material, but for two completely different looks!
I first started by selecting the Merry - Word DieChristmas - Word DieHolly Border Die Set along with the new Winter Land - 6x6 Paper Pack. I wasn't sure where I was going, but then it hit me; one inked version and a paper-only one!

What I think is really fun with the new border dies is that you can decide to use them as banners, too, like on the paper-only version. Oh and have you ever wondered why the dies at LDRS Creative have such a fancy colour to them? It's not only meant to be cute, but first and mostly to make it easier to release the paper once you are done die-cutting, thanks to a special coating that is applied. Fun, right?
I also wanted to share a tip with you about word dies. If you slightly layer them by die-cutting them twice, you get that special shadow that adds a great finishing touch to your cardmaking projects!

Want to see how I created both cards? Here are some videos to inspire you and who knows, maybe this will become your go-to christmas card sketch this year!
Make sure to come by and tell us on the Facebook group what you think of the new release, we love to hear from you, all!
Until next time :-)

SugarPea Designs: New release Day 3. Flurry of warm wishes!

Hey everyone!

Today is our 3rd release peek at SugarPea Designs and I'm super excited to share my new addiction, distress ink backgrounds, lol! Recognize the colours I used on Day 1 with the Polar Scene?

This time, I  wanted a full background, so that I could stamp various snowflakes from the new Flurry of Warm Wishes stamp set. As you can see, I mixed up gold and pure white ones, to give a sharp contrast to the colourful background, and finishing it with an embossed sentiment.

SugarPea Designs: New release day 1, Eskimo Kisses!

Hello everyone!

I'm super excited to be back to blogging more this week, as things have been REALLY hectic with my intensive semester and all. So let's focus on the new release at SugarPea Designs, shall we? :-)

Today's card is all about Eskimo Kisses, a gorgeous set that my friend Becky designed! And I was super inspired in creating a galaxy background with distress inks, so after looking out for tutorials, I used this post by Yana Smakula to get the technique going. Thanks you, Yana! I did modify a few things, like creating the starry sky with Frantage embossing enamel from Stampendous and masking the panel to add a Copic scene. Why, yes, I love my markers :-P

Want to see this entire card process on video

SugarPea Designs: New release, Let's Flamingle!

Happy Thursday everyone!

And be still, my heart, as you'll all go crazy with today's feature for SugarPea Designs! I swear, this release is da bomb!

As we release two stamp sets and their coordinating dies called Let's Flamingle and Tropic Like It's Hot, I think it's fair to say we've all been waiting for Summer to show up rather sooner than later.

I used the Let's Flamingle stamp and die set because I was really inspired to create a pink background with my Distress inks. No, it's not the Oxide ones, only the plain old inks, as I'm waiting to receive some and get playing. Still, I think the background looks great for what I intended to do!

Have a sunny day, y'all!

Lime Citron: Adorable Petite merveille

Bonjour, bonjour!

Chipboard - Barbots

Acrylique - Petite merveille
Acrylique - Mr & Madame - rose translucide
Pochoir - Flèches
Matrice de coupe (die) - 2 gribouillis
Étampes 3 traits
Encreur Izink - Bordeaux Framboise
Badges (4) 203. Esperluette

En vous souhaitant un week-end inspiré et inspirant!

The Greeting Farm - New release blog hop : OWL YOURS!!

Hey Farmers!!

We have the last release of 2015 right at our door today with the OWL YOURS set! Be sure to hop over on the Greeting Farm blog for a chance to win a set and to see what my teamies did, too!

I'm more and more into Clean and Simple cards, and this matching stamp/die set was perfect for the concept, once again! I basically cut my cardbase and white cardstock, stick them together, then cut a piece of mixed media cardstock (mine is from Strathmore). With your favourite Distress Inks combo, apply ink from light to dark with a round applicator in the middle of the cardstock. Stamp your owls onto colouring medium, colour them, die-cut them, add foam tabs and stack on the cardb. Stamp the little hearts and sentiment with Versamark ink on black cardstock, and heat emboss with gold embossing powder (ideally the Wow! brand). Add foam tabs behind the black cardstock pieces, stack on the card and you're done!

Bloom Girls - Happy endings are only new beginnings

Good morning everyone!

I'm thrilled to show you this creation today, as it made me go way out of my comfort zone, and I loved the experience! I have been turning this concept of card in my head for quite a while now, and then, it hit me: watercolours, alcohol markers, and an epic sentiment to focus on. Not to mention a gorgeous floral stamp!

Here's what you need to create this card:

Colouring medium and ink (I used Copic markers and Memento Tuxedo Black ink)
Bloom cling stamp - Floral
Bloom cling stamp - Sentiment from Lacie's set
Distress inks or your favourite watercolouring products
Mop brush
Water
Scott towels or any sponging paper
Mixed media paper
Foam tab adhesives
Kraft and black cardstock

  1. Start by cutting a 4"x6" piece of mixed media cardstock.
  2. With your brush, add water on your cardstock, carefully trying not to go too far near the edges.
  3. Again with using your wet brush, dab some ink and transfer onto the watered surface of your cardstock. You should see the water reacting immediately.
  4. Add more ink of the same colour for intensity, or change colours and repeat the step onto other parts of your cardstock.
  5. Gently sprinkle water with your brush over the full piece, and sponge with your scott towel. Let everything dry completely. This will create "blank" spots, increasing the watercolour effect.
  6. Stamp your flower onto regular colouring cardstock and colour it.
  7. Stamp sentiment onto cardstock, separate and cut words.
  8. Once your mixed media piece is dry enough, glue to a 4-3/16"x6-3/16" of black cardstock, mounting both on 4-3/8"x6-3/8" cardbase of kraft cardstock.
  9. Put foam tab adhesives behind your flower image and some sentiment pieces, mount onto mixed media cardstock. Put regular adhesive on the pieces that are left.

The process of this card was pretty easy, so you should be able to overflow our facebook group with your inspiration, too!
