SugarPea Designs: Hello sweet friend!

It's been a while since I posted here, wow! I better get back to it, don't you think?

Today I'm back with you for SugarPea Designs with a fresh creation that screams spring for me!

To create this card, I played with the latest release in store and honestly couldn't stop! I first stamped all the flowers and leaves from the Friendship Blooms stamp set on a piece of watercolor paper.

Next, I colored them loosely with my Karin brush markers (I can't stop playing with them lately; so relaxing with a flower set!). I added a little bit of color at the bottom of the panel all around the images so that they would pop even more, slowly fading towards the top.

When that was done and completely dry, I diecut the panel with the largest frame from the new SugarCut - Stitched Rectangles set. The stitching is just the right finishing touch and it fits perfectly onto an A2 cardbase, with foam tape to boot!

Finally, I diecut twice the SugarCut - Hello Block Word and mounted both letter sets with foam squares, slightly angled for a shadow effect. I completed the sentiment with a saying from the Friendship Blooms stamp set that was heat embossed in white onto a piece of navy cardstock.

Lawn Fawnatics: Winter challenge!

It's been a while since I blogged, although I've been very busy on Instagram stories, so I figured I should share a few Christmas cards I created :-) 

Today's project was inspired by the Lawn Fawnatics Winter Challenge, mainly for a snowy landscape!

I've been obsessed lately watercoloring with my Gansai Tambi and this makes no exception. I first started by creating a scene with the Oh What Fun and Winter Village stamp sets from Lawn Fawn using Versamark ink and Wow! Gold embossing powder on Arches Hot Pressed Watercolor paper. After colouring the entire scene, I splattered a few gold drops with the Starry palette and left it to dry. Then, I cut the watercoloured panel with my Guillotine from Tim Holtz to 3 1/2"x 5 1/4" and added it to a white A2 cardbase with double-sided foam tape from Scotch 3M. I stamped a sentiment from the Snowy Backdrop stamp set with my Mini Misti tool and Jet Black Archival ink from Ranger. I completed the card with iridescent sequins, and voilà!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps : Let your light shine!

Hey everyone!

I'm thrilled to host this Anything goes challenge on the Kraftin' Kimmie stamps blog! As I'm trying to do more and more CAS (clean and simple) cards, I've also decided to challenge myself using watercolouring in multiple ways. Today's card is a great example of how versatile your stamps can be from one technique to another! I used two sets from my awesome friend Becky, the flowers coming from the Buds & Blooms set, while the gorgeous sentiment is from the Let Your Light Shine set. Simon Says Stamp : Make for the border challenge!

Hello everyone!

I had a few kitty commissioned cards to make and while they're all heavily embellished, I was feeling for one of my own to be all clean and simple. So I fussy cut one of the Cuddly Critters designed by Kristina Werner for Simon Says Stamp that I had watercoloured with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers during the Daily Marker challenged hosted by Kathy Rac. 

I was inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch #186 and used a border die from LDRS Creative for the Simon says: Wednesday blog, so that I could enter both challenges. Hope you like my card!

The Greeting Farm : A masking tutorial and some watercolouring with ZIG markers

Hello everyone!

I created this tutorial for my local scrapbooking store (Ah!La Carte) and thought I could translate it for you guys. Happy, huh? Here's the one-layer card I did to illustrate my masking tutorial and some watercolouring featuring the Zig Color Clean Brushes. I used the "Your Wings" stamp set from The Greeting Farm to create the scene.

Other supplies used:  Basic Stitched Flags die set from LDRS Creative, Versamark ink, Opaque Bright White Super Fine embossing powder from Wow!, Ranger brushes.

First, start by choosing the image you'd like to see as forefront and stamp it on your colouring paper (mine is 140 lbs, Hot Pressed, from Arches). Next, stamp it a second time on a piece of stamping mask paper. I used this one from Inkadinkado:

Put your mask on your stamped image and stamp a second image over it here and there, while being careful not to overlap anything.

Next, create another mask with the cloud stamp.

Once your mask is ready, just put it on the selected images and fill the sky up to your heart's desire!

Small tip : Try putting back your mask on your stamp set; that way, you won't lose them, and can reuse over and over again!

Wanna give a try to watercolouring with Zig markers? Here's how! 

• Add a splash of colour with your marker
• Add water to a round brush and slightly move the colour towards the center, creating a midtone
• Dry your brush on some towel to remove any colour
• Add more water from the midtone you just created

N.B. Make sure to let everything dry between changing colours. If you're scared of mixing/reactivating them with water, try embossing them on your panel instead of simply stamping them with regular ink.

The colours that I used : Light Carmine, Pink, Cobalt Blue, Light Green, Light Gray from the 48 units set

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps : Embossing is cool!

Hello everyone!

My first thought while writing this post is...it's the week-end, it's the week-end, eheh! But it's no excuse to post some cards, right? So, here's my card for this week's challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps called Emboss it! I decided to heat embossed a sentiment from the Magic of Christmas clear sentiment set in the shop, to try something else with the watercolouring. Now, I'm not too pleased with the paper texture, but we learn from experience, right?
